Good will, gifts and donations down the Glen

Over the years, there has been a lot of positive going into the FOGG project.

There have been tabards for FOGG volunteers – thanks to the Town Council and mentoring for FOGG volunteers – thanks to the District Council.

Whilst the Glen is a public park owned and run by the district council, it is still very much appreciated that they have been installing new benches along the Glen.

There have been several ‘official visits’ – including last month when the Trefoil Guild enjoyed the early spring down the Glen and last summer when the Devon Wildlife Trust visited “the wonderful Glen Goyle”, as did the venerable Sampson Society.

There have been regular prizes handed out – this report from 2023 highlighting the ‘In Your Neighbourhood Awards’ – a celebration of success for volunteers.

Most importantly perhaps, in praise of the volunteers along the Glen, there is particular recognition of the efforts of the working party coming from many quarters. And as a complement to the regular compliments from passers by, here’s a big shout out to the team along the Glen from their first year back in 2022:

Finally, there have been all sorts of donations made over the years, including of course from the district council itself, allowing for lots of planting of bulbs along the Glen

Particularly welcome have been the generous private donations bringing back some of the charm of the Glen – and over the coming weeks, the Friends of Glen Goyle are anticipating more such gifts from private individuals!

Thank you then to all involved for your good will, gifts and donations down the Glen!
