WORKING PARTY REPORT AND PHOTOS: 20TH OCTOBER 2022

This week’s report and these photos are posted by FOGG working party member John McGregor.

The first batch was when John was out and about over the weekend. Other volunteers were on site as per usual on the Thursday morning, joining John and clearing more of the same path and surrounding beds, creating space and light.

I cleared the steps again earlier today and some of the connecting path.  An edging of flints has become exposed which we will need to reinstate at certain points to delineate the footway.

Paul [Fealey, EDDC Horticultural Officer] may have mentioned his purchase of woodland plants which will need to be dug in over the next month or so. Signs will be needed requesting dog owners to respect these new plantings.

Other volunteers were on site as per usual on the Thursday morning, joining John and clearing more of the same path and surrounding beds, creating space and light.

Here are John’s photos from Thursday:

This buddleia is an example of etiolation (thankyou Paul). It must have climbed to at least 20ft. through the bay trees to find light.
