As well as paths, walls and benches hard landscaping refers to things like statues, lighting, signs and rockeries to name but a few aspects.
Our initial tasks will be to make sure the paths and fences are safe, then we will attempt to get more seating in place while we wait to see what plants come up over the coming seasons. Once we know what plants we have then we can decide on further hard landscaping activities.
On this page you can see what we have managed to do so far.
We are still trying to get EDDC to do some things we think necessary but that they don’t have the budget for. Like reinstate the old path from Glen Road round the south side of the lawn to access the bridge with a gentler slope than the current path. The current path is very uneven from tree roots and is also steep down to the bridge.

By the 1905 map the paths had been extended to meet Glen Road, shown by the red dot. This is what we would like to put back as over the years it has been lost. There is still an opening in the brick wall, with gates. This is used by StreetScene when they do maintenance, or pick up the bags loaded with rubbish which result from FOGG activities.
