WORKING PARTY REPORT AND PHOTOS: 31ST OCTOBER 2024

A nice report on today’s session along the Glen from regular working party member John Hopkins:

We had a new FOGG member start today! Welcome Geoff!

So five of us today. We continued bagging up arisings and cut back bamboo where it was starting to encroach on the path at the south end.

Interestingly, we have a load of what my plant identifier app says are echium pininana plants establishing themselves alongside the top path on the raised bed by the lawn. If all these survive the winter we should have a marvellous show of these large triffid like plants in the Spring. 

We have removed a large dark canopy of bay trees in that area and maybe the extra light has allowed these dormant seeds to burst forth but whatever the reason they are in an ideal location.
