This time of year is always fabulous, with colours bursting out.
In particular, the Japanese maples in autumn along the Glen are always stunning.
But this year the colours of autumn seem so much more intense – to the extent that these blog pages keep posting pieces on the seasonal colours. In August it was all about beginning to look autumnal along the Glen; a month later it felt that autumn is here; and late last month the Autumn plumage along the Glen was beginning to look really something.
Well, now that we are well into the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness, FOGG volunteer John Hopkins has put together a wonderful collage of colour.
As he says, following this morning’s session by the working party: “It’s that time of the year when the red Maple reaches peak red intensity and gives us that colourful carpet again. Here’s a collage of the present Autumn colours.”

Thank you John for creating such a picture!
