And please note that the working party were working ‘an extra day’ today – and not on their usual Thursday morning session!
This is the bed they were working on – and in a photo also taken by John Hopkins from last spring, we can see the look of the area from ‘before’ the planting happened:

And as John says, “we hope the echiums develop to full height, as it will be a really good show!”
