More news and more events from the Friends of Glen Goyle!

And following the heavy rainfall that called off the working party on Thursday 16th, FOGG colleague John Hopkins took some stunning photos which caught the colours and light along the Glen:

But over the coming weeks, we should be putting in more of the herbaceous plants provided by the District Council, thanks to horticultural officer Paul Fealey, following a very successful first session:

The Friends of Glen Goyle will be having its regular stall at the Sidmouth Arboretum’s annual ‘celebration of trees’ – held at Kennaway House on Saturday 9th December.

Do get in touch if you would like to help out any time between 11am and 4pm: it should be a great opportunity to see what other groups and craft folk are doing with trees and wood:

And some time in the early New Year, we hope to be having a zoom meeting to look ahead – planning for more planting in the northern section, looking at benches/interpretation boards/a new side path, and looking to some more excellent nature photography along the Glen.

Finally, here’s one of John Hopkins’ fine photos of the murmuring brook making its way down the Glen:

Clearly a perfect place to relax…
