As the years go by and, hopefully, as the FOGG project progresses, it’s interesting to make comparisons.
So, looking at very early spring along the Glen from February 2023, FOGG working party member Katie Frost noted that “the list of wildlife that session included three gold crests being very noisy in the conifers; three queen bumblebees and a red admiral butterfly sunning itself. Plus, the berberis and mahonia were in flower, adding some beautiful spring colour. And a clump of snowdrops greeted you as you entered the Glen.”
At today’s session, FOGG member John Hopkins hailed the harbingers of spring – with the early spring colour, fungi and bat box installation [more of which anon!]. Here are his photos from the morning between showers:
