The friends of Glen Goyle have done a lot of clearance work since we started, to the undergrowth but also to the dark canopy of self seeded trees like bay. The additional light so enabled has allowed plants to flourish. One area has suddenly been blessed with a copse of echiums. The seeds must have lain dormant for years, plants suddenly appearing like aliens but they are very welcome. Hopefully the cycle of reseeding will now continue for years to come.
