Dogwood and acer along the Glen

Looking to what could  be planted in the Glen, here are some fine specimens which would do well in dappled light, taken by  FOGG working party members.

The first is a specimen from along the Glen as photographed in June by John Hopkins:

Our flowering dogwood is looking rather splendid with it’s canopy of flowers

The Glen already has examples of acer (Japanese maple): Japanese maples along the Glen – Friends of Glen Goyle

Here are a couple of photos from Katie Frost’s own nearby garden which show what could be added to the Glen:

Same type of acer growing by itself in dappled shade with Spanish bluebells!
