Getting insect-friendly along the Glen

The sun has been streaming into parts of the Glen.

Members of the volunteer working party have been cutting back  some of the rather rampant laurel, which tends to dominate, and so have let in more light. The red admiral pictured certainly seems to be enjoying the fruits of their labours.

Meanwhile, some of the collected debris of logs will be piled up to create some ‘bug hotels’ – so that insects can also find some dark and cosy corners to lay their eggs before hatching.
