Autumn Equinox 2023 Newsletter

Our last piece of news was from the summer solstice – so it seems appropriate, especially for such a magical place, to bring out the next newsletter for the time of year when the seasons really feel as though they are changing and when that change does fell quite special.

There was a very special moment in July when the Glen was paid a visit by Britain in Bloom – together with  Sidmouth in Bloom, local councillors and council officers. All ferried there in the Toastrack, aka Betty:

There will be another very special moment next week, when the prestigious Jon Wheatley – the chairman of South West in Bloom, the holder of the Victoria medal of honour, and multiple gold medal winner at Chelsea – will be judging Glen Goyle.

He will be there as of 10am on Thursday 28th September – so it would be great if he could be greeted by Friends of Glen Goyle, especially in their hi-viz garb.

Look forward to seeing you down there!

Finally, as always, there are weekly news pieces looking at what’s up on the Glen, from bees to benches, from fences to walls:

Plus the wee reports from the regular Thursday morning working party volunteers:
